Tom Brady and wife Gisele living apart after NFL legends retirement u-turn

Tom Brady and wife Gisele are reportedly 'living apart' after the 45-year-old confirmed he was making a u-turn on his NFL retirement. Earlier this year, Brady announced he was retiring from American football after 22 remarkable seasons in the NFL.

In that time he cemented himself as arguably the greatest player to ever play the sport, having won seven Super Bowl titles, and five MVP Super Bowl awards. Remarkably though just 40 days later Brady made a dramatic u-turn, and announced he would be carrying on in the sport for at least another season.

Amid his change in heart, the 45-year-old is said to have been having relationship problems with wife Giesle, with his retirement u-turn allegedly playing a part in their troubles.

Now, a report from CNN has revealed that the pair are said to be living separately according to a source close to the model. Gisele herself broke her silence surrounding the ongoing rumours following an interview with Elle magazine earlier this week.

Admitting she had 'concerns' about her husband's safety with him still competing, the model said: "This is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present.

"I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again. But ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for [them]. He needs to follow his joy, too."

Brady himself as has addressed the strains his NFL career has had on his family life, when talking on his "Let's Go!" podcast with co-host Jim Gray. The American football stalwart said: "I haven't had a Christmas in 23 years and I haven't had a Thanksgiving in 23 years.

"I haven't celebrated birthdays with people that I care about that are born from August to late January. And I'm not able to be at funerals and I'm not able to be at weddings. I think there comes a point in your life where you say: 'You know what? I've had my fill and it's enough and time to go on, to move into other parts of life.'"

Regardless of his off the field issues, Brady's return to the NFL went ahead on Monday as he and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers teammates defeated the Dallas Cowboys 19-3. Both Tom's and Gisele's represatantives have been approached for comment by Star Sport.
