Anthony Joshua trainer Rob McCracken adamant ‘fascinating’ Tyson Fury fight will happen

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will fight each other, says AJ’s trainer Rob McCracken. Fury is coming off a historic seventh-round TKO win over Deontay Wilder.

The Gypsy King knocked Wilder down twice en route to his victory, for which he won the WBC world title and Ring Magazine belt.

The win has ignited talk that Fury could fight Anthony Joshua for all the belts at some point later this year.

Wilder is likely, however, to take activate his rematch clause with Fury, and a third bout could take place in the summer in Las Vegas again.

But Joshua’s long-time trainer McCracken is adamant his man will fight Fury.

“It has to happen,” McCracken told Sky Sports news.

“It will be fantastic when they box each other – and they will do, down the line.

“The best fighting the best is what the world wants to see and, certainly, they are the two best heavyweights in the world right now.”

“Without a doubt, it is fascinating, it is brilliant.

“We have two heavyweight champions ruling the world – when could you ever say that, in my lifetime? You never could.

“Big Josh and Tyson have done fantastically well. They are tremendous fighters.

“What they have achieved is remarkable, in their lives and their sporting careers. It is fantastic for Britain.”

Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, has already spoken up the possibility that his client takes Fury on later this year.

“Fury is promoted by Bob Arum predominantly,” he said.

“Frank Warren is also involved, MTK are his management company. I’ve spoken to Top Rank and I’ve spoken to MTK straight after the fight.

“Everybody is very clear on this. Everybody wants this fight – Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, MTK, Top Rank, Frank Warren, Matchroom.”
