Deontay Wilder sent classy message from George Foreman after Tyson Fury defeat

Deontay Wilder has been told he will come back stronger by George Foreman.

It follows his high-profile loss to Tyson Fury in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

The Alabama-born fighter was going head to head with Fury for the second time to settle a controversial draw in December 2018.

On that occasion, Wilder retained his WBC title but the Gypsy King absolutely outclassed him in their rematch.

The American's corner threw in the towel while in the seventh round after a particularly bruising exchange.

Wilder was downed two times and his legs were wobbly by the time the match was finished.

It is a resounding loss for the 34-year-old, who would have a day of soul-searching today.

However, the Bronze Bomber has been told he will bounce back by former heavyweight champion Foreman.

The boxing legend reached out to Wilder on social media.

He said: "@BronzeBomber Hello Champ, once a Champ always a Champion; You’ve done so much for boxing.

"Losing is painful; but you’ll be back, even Greater. And I know."

For Fury, it is a remarkable turnaround for a fighter who ballooned to 400 lbs at one stage.

He said: "I told everybody with a pair of ears that the Gypsy King would return to the throne.

“My last fight everybody wrote me off. I was underweight and over-trained. I'm a destroyer. Not bad for someone with pillow fists.

"I'm a man of my word. I told Wilder, his team, the world. We trained for a knockout; we wasn't tapping around in that gym.
