Ebanie Bridges would weigh-in ‘in usual gear’ is she fought in Saudi Arabia

Ebanie Bridges would rather wear her 'usual gear' – lingerie that makes Eddie Hearn look to the sky – but would happily adjust her attire if she was to fight in Saudi Arabia.

The IBF Bantamweight World Champion has previously admitted she would relish the opportunity to fight in the Middle Eastern Kingdom “to show women are strong”. However, strict rules in Saudi Arabia may prevent Bridges from donning her usual lingerie attire that often prompts Hearn to look away in embarrassment.

Female wrestlers such as Ronda Rousey and Becky Lunch have had to wear judo uniforms and full body suits to compete WWE’s Saudi Arabia pay-per-view events such as ‘Crown Jewel’ and ‘Elimination Chamber’, but they did not have to wear a headscarf or a Hijab. While Bridges admits she would hope to wear her usual weigh-in attire in Saudi, she would not be too concerned if she had to wear something more modest.

“It’s part of the brand. I would look good in a garbage bag it doesn’t matter,” Bridges said exclusively to Daily Star sport, when asked how she feels about the prospect of maybe wearing a full-body suit if she was to fight in Saudi Arabia.

“Seriously, I could work a garbage bag on that kind of stage. You see me working the weigh-in days. It’s got nothing to do with what I look like. It’s about that presence and the confidence that I have.

"I would have that confidence if I was wearing a headscarf – I would just work it. I would be happy to get on a card.”

Bridges will be able to get a good look at what boxing in Saudi Arabia will look like, when Ramla Ali faces Crystal Garcia Nova in the first ever women’s boxing match in the Kingdom. At their way in, the pair did not have to fully cover their bodies or wear a headscarf or a hijab.

And Bridges would hope she would be able to wear her normal weigh-in attire, if she was able to one day fight in Saudi. “I think that I would weigh-in, in my usual gear, if I was over there.

"If I could fight for the right to be able to stand up, be myself, and wear what I want. I think that’s important too."
