Jake Paul's bout with Tommy Fury set for August 13, Eddie Hearn claims

Jake Paul’s bout with Tommy Fury is set to be rescheduled for August 13, Eddie Hearn claims, as the promoter describes the duo as ‘very limited’ and says it will be ‘pleasant’ when YouTuber-turned boxer is ‘chinned’

  • Rivals Jake Paul and Tommy Fury are now set to finally lock horns later this year
  • Eddie Hearn has claimed their rescheduled bout may take place on August 13
  • The first fight date was called off late last year with Fury picking up an injury
  • Promoter Hearn has also claimed that it will be ‘pleasant’ to see Paul ‘chinned’

Eddie Hearn has heard Jake Paul’s bout against Tommy Fury is rescheduled for August 13 – and said it will be ‘pleasant’ when the YouTuber-turned-boxer is ‘chinned’.

Paul, 25, holds a 5-0 record in his professional career and has been bullish about his chances of downing Fury. However, their fight was called off late last year.

Promoter Hearn, who has described the duo as ‘limited’, has shared the alleged new date for the showdown and is hoping for it to be ‘competitive’.

Fury, the half-brother of world heavyweight champion Tyson, pulled out of their fight last year

‘I don’t represent them, but I hear that fight [Paul vs Fury] is happening August 13, so you might see it,’ Hearn told talkSPORT Drive.

‘Both are very limited, but as long as it’s a competitive fight, it doesn’t really matter.’

Fury is the half-brother of Tyson, the world heavyweight champion, and has also been criticised in some quarters for the nature of his unblemished time in the ring.

Eddie Hearn, who does not represent the duo, has described the two fighters as ‘very limited’

But he may well prove to be Paul’s toughest test yet. So far, the latter has taken on a fellow YouTuber, a basketball player and two veteran MMA fighters.

The 25-year-old worked to co-promoted Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor with Hearn, who has also conceded the internet sensation is having a positive impact on boxing.

He did, though, also make light of his desire to see Paul handed a tougher test.

‘Jake Paul is a strange one, but I like what he’s doing for boxing,’ Hearn added.

Paul has been bullish about his chances of beating Fury, and has previously worked with Hearn

‘I did Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor with him and it was great fun, it was a big success.

‘He’s putting the work in and he’s not terrible.

‘But it’ll be a pleasant day when someone chins him.’
