Tyson Fury lives up to ‘people’s champ’ reputation by shopping at Home Bargains

Less than a week after becoming heavyweight champion of the world in Las Vegas, Tyson Fury has been spotted shopping in discount store Home Bargains.

Last Saturday night Fury ended Deontay Wilder’s incredible unbeaten streak of 43 fights with one of the best boxing displays of all-time to claim the WBC title.

The Gypsy King could therefore be forgiven for opting to take the week off to party in ‘Sin City’ or splash out on some kind of luxurious new items.

But instead Fury took to the streets of his hometown, Morecambe, to treat his kids with a trip to Home Bargains for some cut-price toys.

Fury is believed to be worth around £60m, having pocketed £30m from the recent fight with Wilder.

But he maintains an incredibly humble lifestyle in Lancashire seaside town Morecambe, and is always happy to pose for selfies or sign autographs, according to a local.

A passerby told the Sun: “It was amazing to see.

“Tyson has just banked millions from his fight and could buy them anything they want.

“But as all parents know, children are happy with any gift and Home Bargains has a decent toy selection so the children were delighted.

“He was mobbed by well-wishers as he left, but he was happy to pose for pictures and sign autographs.

“He’s well known in Morecambe and enjoys living there, so he doesn’t want to change anything with his home life.
