Buccaneers HC Bruce Arians retires from coaching: Tom Brady, NFL community react to stunning news

One of the busiest NFL offseasons in recent memory received its latest stunner Wednesday night: Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians is retiring from coaching and is transitioning to a front office role in Tampa Bay.

Defensive coordinator Todd Bowles is replacing Arians as the Buccaneers’ new head coach.

It didn’t take long for this news — not the first shocking development involving the Buccaneers this month — to reverberate across the NFL community on social media.

In my interview with Arians that hasn’t aired @nflnetwork yet, he spoke of how upset he was the Bowles and Leftwich didn’t get HC jobs this cycle and added that they had plans to elevate others on staff in case they did. I guess those will be activated to some degree now.
