Heads were scratched when Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner was pulled from Game 6 of the 2020 World Series. They wouldn’t have to wait long for an answer.
Per Fox’s postgame broadcast, Turner tested positive for COVID-19 and was pulled midgame after being made aware of the result.
There were no immediate reports if Turner was the sole positive test.
Considering MLB moved into a bubble to prevent positive tests during the postseason, it’s concerning and confusing how a positive test both came about and how the Dodgers were unaware of it until midgame. There’s also murkiness surrounding whether Turner’s teammates knew of his positive test.
MLB succeeded by limiting tests in the postseason, with Turner’s positive the lone confirmed test during the playoffs.
