Miami Marlins season on pause after coronavirus outbreak: What we know now

The Miami Marlins' season was suspended Tuesday by Major League Baseball after 15 players and two staff members tested positive for coronavirus between Friday and Tuesday.

Timeline of events

The shortened MLB 2020 season started Thursday, July 23. The Miami Marlins played the Philadelphia Phillies in Philadelphia on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.


  • The Marlins postponed their home games Monday and Tuesday against the Baltimore Orioles after at least 13 of their players and staff members tested positive for the coronavirus.
