Two late changes, medical subs named

Geelong has replaced Lachie Henderson with midfielder Quinton Narkle while the Bulldogs have left out ruckman Stefan Martin and brought in Toby McLean.

One would suspect the wet conditions saw both sides replace a big man with a more mobile player.

Both clubs have some firepower in reserve with the Cats naming Shaun Higgins as their medical sub and Mitch Wallis the medical sub for the Bulldogs.

‘Rules will be adjusted’: Debate rages over Mackay tribunal call

Concussion campaigner Peter Jess has accused the AFL Tribunal of being negligent in its duty to protect players from serious injury, on a day the league indicated change was imminent with legislation to be introduced in a bid to avoid a repeat of the collision between David Mackay and Hunter Clark which left the Saint with a broken jaw.

The three-man tribunal jury of Paul Williams, David Neitz and Richard Loveridge found after more than an hour of deliberation on Thursday night that Mackay had not acted in an “unreasonable” manner in his collision with Clark, which left the St Kilda player out for the rest of the season.
