Game time changed to 8.05pm

There has been all kinds of drama on the road between Brisbane and the Gold Coast with both the Lions and Tigers’ team buses stuck in a traffic jam due to an accident.

The AFL has pushed back the game time as the Tigers were facing under an hour of preparation time.

The AFL statement:

“The AFL advises the Richmond vs. Brisbane Lions match will commence at 8:05pm AEST (formerly 7:50pm AEST) tonight, Friday July 16.

Both clubs are currently commuting from Brisbane to the Gold Coast where they have experienced significant traffic delays.

The decision to push the game back 15 minutes has been made to provide teams with adequate time to prepare for the match.“

The man of the hour

Jack Riewoldt plays his 300th AFL game tonight and all of them have been for the Tigers.

Good evening

Both these clubs have eyes on a big finals run but the Tigers’ have hit a form slump in the past few weeks and are facing some hurdles as they try to win their third-flag in a row.

We will have plenty to offer in tonight’s live blog so please keep an eye out for our regular features like our game from the archives and player to watch.

It’s also an eventful night with Jack Riewoldt playing his 300th game and the Richmond team bus being caught in a traffic jam and the game delayed to an 8.05pm start AEDT.

More on that in moment.
