Newcastle United have been unceremoniously dumped out of the FA Cup after being beaten by League One side Cambridge United, with Toon hero Alan Shearer branding the club "pathetic".
A second half strike from Cambridge forward Joe Ironside was enough to topple the Premier League strugglers and seal a famous win for the U's.
Despite a sold-out crowd, St James' Park was stunned into silence as more gloom descended on the north east club, in spite of their newfound riches.
It was a debut to forget for Kieran Trippier, who signed for £12 million from Atletico Madrid last week in what is expected to be the first of a number of new arrivals on Tyneside this month.
Magpies boss Eddie Howe hadn't exactly picked a second-rate team either, with Allan Saint-Maximin, Ryan Fraser, Joelinton, Martin Dúbravka and Jonjo Shelvey among the starters.
The hosts wasted a number of good chances in the first half, with Jacob Murphy fluffing his lines on more than one occasion.
Just 10 minutes into the second half, Ironside put the visitors ahead after swivelling and firing home from close range.
Newcastle knocked on the door for most of the remaining half hour, but couldn't find a way through.
After the game, Gary Lineker posted an amusing photo of Alan Shearer looking completely fed up on Twitter.

"So @NUFC have lost at home League 1 side @CambridgeUtdFC and @alanshearer could be very grumpy tonight," Lineker wrote.
The Newcastle legend responded: "Well done Cambridge. Pathetic NUFC," along with an angry face emoji.
The result adds to Newcastle recent woes, with the club two points from safety in the Premier League after just one win in their opening 19 matches.
