Manchester United’s Anthony Martial is enjoying some time off before returning for pre-season with the Red Devils in September.

The forward took to Instagram to share a picture of himself with his reality TV wife Melanie relaxing on the beach in Cannes following United’s Europa League quarter-final defeat by Sevilla.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has, however, warned his players that they have to be available for pre-season training on September 1 – giving Martial five days before he is due back in Manchester.

As it stands the Foreign and Commonwealth Office are now advising ‘against all but essential travel to France’ but have said they do not require those who are currently in France to leave at this time.

United’s seemingly relaxed approach to the risks posed by Covid-19 has previously raised eyebrows this summer after Solskjaer permitted several players to travel abroad in the brief down-time between the end of the Premier League and the resumption of their Europa League campaign.

In addition, the majority of United’s squad embarked on a two-week holiday after flying back from Germany on Monday.

Solskjaer’s men, including Martial, will be expected to return for pre-season duty next week as Manchester United look to build upon their third place finish last term.

The 2020-21 campaign will kick off on September 12 – just seven weeks after the old Premier League season finished.

Though United are allowed to begin later because they were involved in the latter stages of the Europa League, which ended with a semi-final defeat by Sevilla in Cologne last Sunday.
