Arsenal ace Mesut Ozil sends four-word message to Aubameyang as he wades into Kroos row

Arsenal outcast Mesut Ozil may have been exiled from the playing squad in north London, but he’s refusing to go quietly and has been active on social media to prove he’s still part of the team. Ozil got involved in the row between Toni Kroos and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on Thursday night.

Ozil seems unlikely to play for Arsenal again after being cast aside by Mikel Arteta.

The German playmaker was left out of the club’s Premier League and Europa League squad lists, and now faces a long road back if he is to line up for the Gunners again.

With his contract set to expire next summer, the likely scenario is that he will depart on a free transfer either in January or at the end of the season.

Regardless of his situation, however, he has been vocal online to remind fans he exists and has regularly been live-tweeting games.

Now though, he’s gone a step further and has got involved in the row between his team-mate Aubameyang and Real Madrid star Kroos.

Aubameyang and Kroos became involved in a bizarre online feud earlier this week after the Madrid midfielder made some comments about Aubameyang wearing masks to celebrate goals.

The Gunners striker is known for pulling out all the stops after scoring, and in the past has been seen wearing Batman and Black Panther masks.

Kroos seems to have taken issue with that, however, and claimed Aubameyang isn’t a role model because of his antics.

He said: “Aubameyang once celebrated and took out a mask. That’s where it ends with me.

“I don’t think that’s a good role model either. What nonsense.”

And Ozil gave his support to Aubameyang on Thursday night, as he took to Twitter to pay tribute to his team-mate.

He posted a gif of Aubameyang in a Black Panther mask with the caption: “The best goal celebration!”.

Aubameyang is yet to respond to Ozil’s post, but aimed a few playful jabs at Kroos.

He posted an image of a poster put up by a local school describing himself as a hero, with the caption: “By the way does Toni Kroos have Kids?

“Just to remember i did it for my son few Times and i will do it again.

“I wish you have Kids one day and make them happy like this Junior School pupils [sic] and don’t Forget #maskon #staysafe”
