Arsenal fans have been left furious after comparing Granit Xhaka’s treatment to that of Harry Kane after the Tottenham star escaped an early red-card against Liverpool.
Kane was only booked by referee Paul Tierney after he put in a late challenge on Reds left-back Andy Robertson, which left the Scotland captain in clear pain.
20 minutes had gone in the Premier League clash when the Spurs striker lunged at Robertson, who was in possession, but rather than the ball, Kane caught the Liverpool man on the ankle with a high foot.
It certainly appeared to be a tackle that may have been enough to see Kane sent-off, with Arsenal supporters certainly of the opinion that he should have been sent for an early bath.
Gunners fans took to social media to compare Kane’s treatment to that of Xhaka, who has earned a reputation for ill-discipline since moving to the Emirates.
The Switzerland international has been shown four red cards and been booked on 44 other occasions across his Premier League career.
He was involved in an incident on Saturday, with many believing he should have seen red for a stamp on Leeds star Raphinha.

Kane meanwhile is yet to be sent off in a top-flight match, something that Arsenal fans believe should have changed on Sunday.
They also took aim at the consistency of refereeing in the Premier League and at Sky Sports commentator Gary Neville.
“Xhaka would have been suspended for the entire season but Kane gets away!!” one fan fumed.
“Harry Kane, the media boy, escapes a possible red card. If it was to be Xhaka, y'all know what would have happened,” another tweeted.

“How does Kane get away with such fouls but if Xhaka did that, it would be a whole different story. Where’s the consistency?” a third fan asked.
“Neville brushes off Kane's assault within 30 seconds, even tries to justify it but spent about 10 mins demanding a red for Xhaka,” a fourth noted.
“Kane getting away with a horrible tackle. If that’s Xhaka, he’s sent off,” a fifth supporter wrote.
