Arsenal ‘leak’ new home kit as supporters spot new shirt lurking in background

Arsenal fans believe that they may have spotted their new home kit in the background of some recent social media footage starring Bukayo Saka.

FootyHeadlines, who have a reputation for leaking future strips, recently shared images of the reported 2022/23 kit. In true Gunners style, the shirt is red with white sleeves and a polo collar. The collar then has red zig-zags on it.

Fuelling the rumours that the Arsenal team will be wearing that exact top at the Emirates Stadium next season, a similar-looking shirt appeared in the backdrop of a video clip shared by Arsenal last weekend. The shirt appeared to be hanging on a clothes rail, facing away from the camera, in the background of a shot of Saka and Vivienne Miedema.

The supposed shirt looks to have been inspired by Arsenal’s home shirt, manufactured by Nike, that was worn between 1994 and 1996. The red underneath the sleeves, white collar and lightning-like lines were all featured on that kit previously.

There have also been leaks of the away and third kit that they many are anticipating that the Gunners will release to the public once the season draws to a close. The away shirt is all-black with gold highlights and the cannon-version of the team crest, whereas the third is a pastel shade of pink.

Arsenal fans will be hoping that they get to see their leaked kits on the biggest European stage of them all next season, the Champions League. Mikel Arteta ’s side regained the fourth spot in the Premier League from rivals Tottenham on Sunday after beating West Ham.

Rob Holding and Gabriel scored either side of Jarrod Bowen’s equaliser for the Hammers, sending the away fans into a frenzy. Speaking after the game, Arteta said: “We didn’t play so well. If I have to analyse the game, I use a word, we win ugly.

“Big teams have to find a way to win ugly when they don’t play their best. Today we were really poor. We lacked composure, dominance to play the game that we wanted to play. But we find a way. To win here is credit to the boys and they showed the spirit that we have.”

Arsenal take on Leeds next weekend before travelling to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to take on their North London rivals in a crucial match for the top four. Whoever wins said match would hold the upper hand in their battle for the fourth spot with two matches remaining of the season.
