Arsenal will reportedly return with an improved offer to sign Brighton defender Ben White this summer. Arsenal are claimed to have had a £40million bid rejected by the Seagulls for England international White. Brighton are thought to want around £50m for the 23-year-old’s signature.
White signed a new contract at Brighton last September to ward off interest from Leeds United.
Leeds wanted to re-sign the centre-back after he shone in a loan spell at Elland Road during their promotion campaign.
His performances in the Premier League at Brighton have caught Arsenal’s interest and also the eye of England boss Gareth Southgate.
With Arsenal set to make another offer soon, Express Sport looks at the shirt numbers available to White.

The most obvious number for White would be the No 5 jersey.
He wore the No 5 during his time at Leeds and it is the most sensible option for a defender that is currently available at Arsenal.
Sokratis Papastathopoulos’s departure in January led to the shirt being vacated.
Rob Holding may have something to say about that though, after becoming a regular under Arteta last term in his familiar No 16 jersey.

Hector Bellerin currently wears the No 2 but he is heavily linked with a move away from the club.
It would likely be reserved for a new right-back, with Arsenal in the market for a player of that kind.
However, White has worn the number before during his days in the Brighton under-23 side, so it could potentially be an option.
The next number available to White is the No 20 jersey.
A host of defenders have worn 20 during their Arsenal careers, but not all with a great deal of success.
Shkodran Mustafi vacated the shirt in January, with the likes of Johan Djourou, Philippe Senderos and Matthew Upson having worn it before him.
White may want to pick a number which has a better history, shall we say.
There are thin pickings for White other than the numbers mentioned above.
The 23 and 26 shirts are available before it gets above 30, but more may become free once Arteta sells some players this summer.
It appears the No 5 would be the best bet if Arsenal can get a deal over the line for White this summer.
