Arsenal transfer round-up: Gunners unwilling to fund January exit for Mesut Ozil

Arsenal have had a pretty busy January transfer window so far, bringing in Omar Rekik from Hertha Berlin, selling Matt Macey to Hibernian and loaning out Sead Kolasinac to Schalke and William Saliba to Nice.

More business is expected to be completed, with a number of outgoings likely and manager Mikel Arteta keen on strengthening his squad.

Mesut Ozil's future could also be sorted, with the playmaker out of contract in the summer and linked with moves to a number of clubs.

So what could we see happen in the next few days?

Here is all the latest news coming out of the Emirates…

Nketiah linked with West Ham

West Ham are reportedly interested in signing Eddie Nketiah after Sebastien Haller left the club to join Ajax.

A report from the Evening Standard claims Nketiah is among several options the Hammers are considering, with Bournemouth's Josh King and Stade de Reims forward Boulaye Dia also on their wish list.

Nketiah has entered the final 18 months of his Arsenal contract and West Ham are said to be keen to know what the Gunners' stance is on the 21-year-old's future.

Dortmund willing to sell Brandt

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly willing to sell Julian Brandt this month, amid speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal.

The Gunners are in the market for a creative midfielder and Brandt has emerged as a potential option for Arteta's side.

According to a report from Bild, Brandt is one of two players Dortmund are open to selling in the January window, along with left-back Nico Schulz.

The report claims that the Bundesliga side would be open to letting him leave if they received a 'lucrative offer'.

Arsenal unwilling to fund Ozil exit

Mesut Ozil looks set to leave Arsenal in the near future but it remains to be seen whether he will depart in January or at the end of the season.

Turkish side Fenerbahce and MLS outfit DC United have been linked with the midfielder and, according to the Guardian, Ozil would prefer a move to the Super Lig.

However, the report adds that Arsenal are unwilling to pay any part of Ozil's bumper £350,000-a-week wages if he leaves on loan in January.
