David Beckham has reportedly contacted Real Madrid president Florentino Perez over a move for James Rodriguez to his MLS franchise Inter Miami.

The Colombia international has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu after falling out of favour under manager Zinedine Zidane.

And Beckham’s Inter Miami are interested in acquiring Rodriguez’s services, according to Goal.

President Perez is reportedly open to offers for the 28-year-old attacking midfielder. 

The ex-England captain knows Madrid president Perez from his time at the LaLiga giants between 2003 and 2007.

Beckham scored 20 goals and supplied 51 assists in 159 appearances for Madrid after joining from Manchester United.

Rodriguez is on the brink of entering the final year of his contract in Spain and therefore could leave on a free transfer in the summer of 2021.  

The playmaker’s 2019-20 season has been hindered by injuries but he has also slipped down the pecking order at the Bernabeu.
