Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma heaped praise upon young midfielder Billy Gilmour following his performance in the Blues' 2-0 FA Cup win over Liverpool .
Goals from Willian and Ross Barkley sealed the win for Chelsea, but it was Gilmour who caught the eye during the game at Stamford Bridge.
The 18-year-old was surprisingly named in the starting line-up by Frank Lampard but paid back his manager's faith with a stunning display.
Gilmour is likely to be involved in more games before the end of the season, and speaking to the club's official website Zouma, who helped his side keep a clean sheet, said he was impressed with what he saw.
"Unbelievable performance, very mature in his game, and calm and clever as well with the ball and without the ball," Zouma said.
"He was fantastic, like he is in training. He is training very good. He is very confident and he can keep the ball, he is running around and pressing the guys. He has a bright future ahead of him, he just needs to keep working hard."
Blues manager Lampard was equally impressed with Gilmour, saying after the game: "Billy showed today that he's absolutely comfortable at this level.
"If he can play like he played tonight then he's comfortable at this level, so he can get himself in and around the team now.
