Chelsea have been having a torrid time the past few weeks attempting to secure the signature of Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland. Reports have claimed a player-plus-cash deal using Tammy Abraham as makeweight has been rejected by the Bundesliga club.
Despite the mammoth fee of around £100million, along with Abraham – valued at £50m by the Blues – Dortmund still stand resolute in their defiant stance.
Chelsea therefore face the difficult task of persuading Dortmund to sell their most prized possession.
That task is even tougher considering the German outfit lost another talismanic player in Jadon Sancho who is to join Manchester United.
Abraham seems to have no part in Thomas Tuchel’s plans for the Blues, despite finishing as joint-top goal scorer for them last year, so he will likely be leaving this summer.

Two other players Tuchel and Marina Granovskaia might consider using to barter with Dortmund could be Jorginho and Michy Batshuayi.
Batshuayi went on loan to Dortmund back in 2018 from Chelsea, and certainly impressed during his time there.
Scoring nine goals in just 14 appearances for the German side, he adapted to the Bundesliga well.
That in-fact remains his most recent best run of form, so perhaps Dortmund may consider taking the 27-year-old back.
Considering Dortmund have lost Sancho, and now Chelsea want Haaland, you must be able to offer the world to make up for what they’ve lost.
Money is one thing, however, offering a player of Jorginho’s calibre may very well prick the interest of the Germans.
He has reportedly been linked with a move to Juventus this summer, but perhaps Chelsea may look to use him in this deal instead.
Last season he won the Champions League with Chelsea, playing a vital role in their incredible success.

Recently he has just won the Euros with Italy, again playing a crucial in Roberto Mancini’s seemingly unbeatable team.
He covered the most ground out of any player the entire tournament, and broke Marcel Desailly’s 26-year record of 24 interceptions for a Euros campaign.
These three players may just be the decisive factor that stands between Haaland and a move to Stamford Bridge.
To sign the Norwegian superstar, Chelsea know they must be prepared to mount a mouth-watering offer for Dortmund.
Tuchel knows that if he signs the 20-year-old striker, then his team will be favourites for the Premier League again, and perhaps once again in Europe.
