Chelsea make Antonio Rudiger transfer decision which will annoy Spurs boss Jose Mourinho

Tottenham could be left frustrated in their attempts to sign Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger as the Blues would rather let him go to a foreign club. Rudiger is down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge with the likes of Kurt Zouma and Thiago Silva preferred.

Paris Saint-Germain are in talks for the German and are keen to complete a loan deal before the transfer deadline.

Rudiger has entered the final two years of his contract although Chelsea are keen to extend it by a further 12 months to protect his value.

The Blues are willing to let the centre-back leave on loan.

But Frank Lampard would rather Rudiger not join a direct rival such as Tottenham, according to Sky Sports.

That is bad news for Jose Mourinho who is looking to bolster his ranks before the 11pm deadline tomorrow.

Tottenham are one of several clubs to have expressed an interest in Rudiger.

Daniel Levy is currently in the market for a centre-back and a loan would suit Tottenham.

According to The Athletic, Rudiger’s preference is to join Mourinho amid interest from PSG, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Barcelona and clubs in Germany.

French football expert Jonathan Johnson claims that PSG want to sign Rudiger and they are shopping exclusively in the loan market.

“There are a number of players that PSG are interested in and there’s a couple at Chelsea actually,” he told Sky Sports News.

“The problem for PSG is that they need to raise funds, quite a significant amount actually of around €60million (£54m) between transfer fees and wages.
