Chelsea set to gain £80m in transfer funds to help fund radical squad overhaul

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will look to further fund the club’s massive summer spending spree by raking in close to £80million through player sales.

The Blues have already been the biggest spenders in Europe in this transfer window and are not finished yet, with several other signings in the offing.

Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Hakim Ziyech, Malang Sarr, and Thiago Silva have all arrived for around £120m and Kai Havertz is close to joining for £80m.

Chelsea hardly spend a penny over the last two years after being slapped with a transfer ban but are trying to make up for that this summer.

A top four finish in the Premier League last term ensured the club can offer potential recruits Champions League football if they join.

And Lampard will be hoping his team can push Manchester City and Liverpool much closer this time around in the Premier League.

West Ham midfielder Declan Rice is now being linked with a £65m move, while even Lionel Messi has been mentioned as a target.

To help fund his other targets Lampard can boost his coffers through selling some players who will likely be deemed surplus to requirements next season.

Marcos Alonso is being linked with an £18m move to Sevilla, while Tiemoue Bakayoko could return to AC Milan for £20m.

Elsewhere, Emerson Palmeiri will struggle for game time after the signing of Chilwell and he could join Inter Milan.

Chelsea want £22m for the left-back but the Serie A side are unlikely to want to pay that amount for the Italian.

Michy Batshuayi is also being linked with a move to either Leeds United or Atlanta with £20m the asking price.

Should Lampard be able to get all of those players out the door, it could raise the same amount that it will take to sign Havertz.

The only question that remains for Chelsea fans at the moment is how is Lampard going to fit all of the new signings in his team!
