Chelsea vs Everton predicted line-ups: Team news ahead of Premier League fixture tonight

Thomas Tuchel and Carlo Ancelotti go head-to-head with their teams on Monday night, as Chelsea fc host Everton in the Premier League.

Both sides are pushing hard for a top-four finish and are among the more in-form sides at the top end of the league, with the likes of Tottenham, Liverpool and – until a late comeback win this weekend – Leicester all dropping points regularly of late.

Chelsea have won four of the last six in the top flight, while Everton have earned three wins on the spin, the latest of which came against relegation-threatened West Brom.

A potentially intriguing tactical battle awaits, as the Stamford Bridge club have dominated matches without creating too many clear scoring chances under Tuchel – while Ancelotti’s side have returned to form partly as a result of tightening up defensively, keeping three clean sheets in succession. Just one point and place separates the sides ahead of kick-off, with Chelsea in fourth having played a game more.

What is the team news?

Chelsea still have a doubt over Thiago Silva, while Tammy Abraham is unlikely to return to the squad. Otherwise, there are a full raft of options for Thomas Tuchel to choose from.

Everton are missing Yerry Mina, Fabian Delph and long-term absentee Jean-Philippe Gbamin. Jamez Rodriguez, Tom Davies and Seamus Coleman are doubts, but Allan is likely to be back in the starting XI.

Predicted line-ups

CHE – Mendy; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger; Hudson-Odoi, Kante, Kovacic, Alonso; Mount, Pulisic; Werner

EVE – Pickford; Holgate, Godfrey, Keane, Digne; Doucoure, Allan, Gomes; Sigurdsson; Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin

Chelsea – 3/5

Draw – 16/5

Everton – 6/1

Carlo Ancelotti’s side won’t make it easy for the Blues but Chelsea look confident and have a good game plan right now which will see them dominate the 90 minutes. They still need to develop a more clinical edge, but should just edge the match here. Chelsea 2-1 Everton.
