Manchester City have reportedly contacted Eintracht Frankfurt star Andre Silva’s agent over a summer swoop as Pep Guardiola searches for a replacement for Sergio Aguero.
The Premier League champions are looking to fill the mammoth void left by the club’s all-time leading goalscorer, who left the Etihad Stadium for Barcelona following the expiration of his contract.
Guardiola’s side have been linked with mega-money moves for Erling Haaland and Harry Kane, with the latter understood to have informed Tottenham of his desire to leave north London this summer.

And according to German outlet Sport Bild, City are casting their net further as they search for a successor for the Argentine, having reportedly contacted Silva’s representatives over a move.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed a sensational season with the Bundesliga side since making his loan switch permanent from AC Milan.
The Portugal international has bagged 29 goals in 34 games for The Eagles, fulfilling the early potential that was showcased at Porto as a youngster.
Bild reports that City have contacted Jorge Mendes’ Gestifute over a summer swoop, with the Germans understood to be looking for a fee of £34m for the striker.

City are expected to face stiff competition from LaLiga champions Atletico Madrid for Silva’s signature, too.
Silva would be welcomed at City by a Portuguese contingent of Ruben Dias, Joao Cancelo and Bernardo Silva, although Atletico have Joao Felix, who is also an international team-mate of Silva’s.
The 25-year-old does not have a release clause in his contract with Frankfurt, amid reports that United have monitored the striker as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.
