Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly wants Manchester United to sign Federico Chiesa from Juventus. The Italy international has impressed during his time in Turin and helped his country win the European Championships earlier this summer. However, given his huge £100million price tag, any deal won’t be easy.
If United want to sign Chiesa, they may decide to raise funds by selling a few players.
And even if that’s not the case, several players could feasibly seek a new challenge away from Old Trafford if the Juventus star joins.
At present, United have a squad full of attacking talent.
But the problem is that all of them want to play. Some are bound to be disappointed over the course of the campaign, especially as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn’t tinker too often.
So we’ll now take a look at four players who could leave United behind if Chiesa comes in.

Though Chiesa doesn’t play as a centre-forward like Edinson Cavani, it would still be a blow for the Uruguay international.
He’s already fallen down the pecking order following Ronaldo’s Hollywood homecoming.
And given Cavani stayed because he felt like he could be the main man, it’s possible he’ll now choose to depart.
Boca Juniors have insisted the door is open for the 34-year-old.
And, in recent weeks, La Liga pair Real Madrid and Barcelona have both been linked.

Regardless of what happens with Chiesa, Amad is expected to leave Old Trafford on loan.
Yet the arrival of the Italy international would be another blow for a player who will already struggle for regular action.
Therefore, even the possibility of Amad leaving permanently can’t be ruled out.
United signed him last summer because they missed out on Jadon Sancho.
Yet given the England international is now at the club, it’s hard to see where Amad fits in for the future.
Juan Mata has, undeniably, been a good asset for United over the years.
But it’s clear the Spain international’s best days are behind him, with the player barely featuring under Solskjaer over the past year.
Mata is expected to leave at the end of his contract and the potential arrival of Chiesa would enhance the likelihood of that happening.
There came a time where Mata was expected to be United’s main playmaker.
But the Spaniard is usually played out wide instead and, with Bruno Fernandes at the club, he won’t get too many chances there.
Any deal for Chiesa would almost definitely be the final nail in Anthony Martial’s United coffin.
Once tipped for the very top, the Frenchman has struggled over the past two years.
Consistency has always been his issue and, after netting just seven times last season, this is a make-or-break time for him.
Newcastle have been linked in the wake of their Saudi takeover.
And Borussia Dortmund are interested, too, especially with Erling Haaland expected to leave.
