David De Gea’s sublime role in Bruno Fernandes’ Man Utd goal leaves fans in awe

Manchester United fans were delighted with the role David De Gea played in their third goal during the 4-1 win over Newcastle.

Cristiano Ronaldo stole the headlines, with two goals on his second debut for the Red Devils.

Bruno Fernandes and Jesse Lingard also added their names to the scoresheet in the comprehensive victory at Old Trafford.

United have been in scintillating form in front of goal so far this season, with 11 in Premier League.

They’ve also been firmer at the back, with fans impressed with David De Gea’s displays.

The Spain international made a superb double save against Wolves before the international break and continued that form with some crucial stops against Newcastle on Saturday.

He also showed the quality he posses with his feet in the build-up to Fernandes’ goal.

Throughout out the last few seasons, a goalkeeper’s ability to play out from the back has become just as important as shot stopping.

Ederson and Alisson are at the forefront of this new generation of ball playing keepers, but De Gea showed he is also capable.

A volley out of his hands was perfectly played through to Greenwood, cutting apart the Magpie’s defence.

The ball eventually came to Fernandes, who hit a wonderful long ranged shot from the edge of the box, leaving Freddie Woodman with no chance as the ball was fired into the top left corner.
