The 23-year-old midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to the Red Devils this summer, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer plans to bolster his midfield options ahead of the 2020-21 season.
Tottenham and Barcelona are also believed to be keen on the Ajax star, who scored ten goals in 37 appearances for the Dutch Eredivisie side last season.

But according to Spanish news outlet SPORT, van de Beek has already informed his team-mates of his next destination and will fly to Manchester next week to complete the deal.
The report says Ronald Koeman was keen on bringing his fellow countryman to the Camp Nou this summer but the LaLiga club baulked at the £50million asking price for the midfielder.
And Manchester United, who are interested in for Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish, have moved ahead of the Catalans in the queue for van de Beek and their interest in him meant he was left out of Ajax’s friendly against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.
Ajax boss Erik Ten Haag said: ‘There are indeed developments that prevent him from being in the selection. We are looking at how that will end.’

While the transfer window closes on October 5, the Dutch giants would like van de Beek’s future sorted by September 13, when they begin their league season against Sparta Rotterdam.
The 23-year-old has been involved in Ajax’s pre-season campaign so far and even played in a couple of friendlies this week.
The midfielder has made 175 appearances in all competitions for his boyhood club, since coming through the youth ranks in 2015.
He was part of the Ajax side who reached the Champions League last four in 2019 and scored in the last-16, quarter-final and semi-final rounds.
