Emile Smith Rowe tells Arsenal fans to be excited for ‘ridiculous’ Gabriel Jesus

Gabriel Jesus has been “ridiculous” ever since he completed his £45million move to Arsenal from Manchester City, claims new teammate Emile Smith Rowe.

Jesus has made a phenomenal impression ever since he was quickly snapped up by Mikel Arteta at the end of June. A few weeks after scooping a wonderful effort over Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy in a 4-0 pre-season win, Jesus confounded an outstanding pre-season with a fantastic hattrick against Sevilla in the Emirates Cup.

The Gunners’ No.9 has certainly hit the ground running ever since he departed Pep Guardiola’s side. And Smith Rowe said the north Londoners have every reason to be “excited” for the coming Premier League season.

“The players who have come back from last season, I already know how good they are, so it’s not a surprise to see how well everyone is doing,” Smith Rowe said to Vibe with Five. When asked if any players have surprised him, Smith Rowe quickly added, “From the new players, I think Gabriel Jesus.

“I didn’t realise how sharp he was. Obviously playing against him is different.

“You see him (when you are) watching Manchester City play, but when you actually see him training. I’ve told all my friends, that’s all they’ve been asking me, ‘yeah, he’s ridiculous.”

While their new frontman has already set a huge bar for himself, Arsenal fans are also eagerly anticipating the Premier League debuts of Fabio Vieira and Oleksandr Zinchenko. Both players have garnered huge reputations for their silky footwork and sumptuous passing, even if the latter did so as a left back with City.

“It’s a very techie (technically gifted) team, isn’t it,” Smith Rowe added. “In every position as well you know. Everyone is excited and Arsenal fans should be as well.”

Arsenal kick off their campaign with a very difficult away trip to Crystal Palace on Friday night.
