Erling Haaland gives verdict on ‘fantastic’ Man Utd target Jadon Sancho

Erling Haaland has hailed Jadon Sancho as a "fantastic player" who Borussia Dortmund are "lucky to have".

The Englishman is a Manchester United target, as was Haaland earlier this season.

Dortmund beat the Red Devils to the signing of the Norwegian in January and the two clubs may be involved in another transfer saga this summer with Sancho on United's wish list.

And Haaland has talked up his team-mate who he reckons has the potential to get better and better.

"He’s a fantastic player, and the stats don’t lie, what he’s been doing for us this season, so he’s a fantastic player and he will become even better,"Haaland told ESPN. "We are lucky to have him here."

Sancho has scored 31 times in 90 outings for the Bundesliga outfit.

This term he has bagged 17 goals – his best return in a single season.

The coronavirus pandemic has put the majority of European leagues on hold with some even ending their campaigns prematurely.

United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has warned fans about the financial implications as clubs approach two months since they last played.

The Old Trafford faithful had hoped Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would again be backed in the transfer market, but Woodward has claimed it won't be "business as usual".

He told a fans forum: "Nobody should be under any illusions about the scale of challenge facing everyone in football and it may not be ‘business as usual’ for any clubs, including ourselves, in the transfer market this summer."

"As ever our priority is the success of team, but we need visibility of the impact across the whole industry, including timings of the transfer window, and the wider financial picture, before we can talk about a return to normality."
