Fuming Espanyol boss grabs player by shirt and screams in face vs Real Madrid

Espanyol striker Raul de Tomas was on the receiving end of a heated telling off from boss Vicente Moreno during their defeat at Real Madrid.

De Tomas had been hauled off in the second half of the La Liga clash at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday (April 30), with Real well in control at 3-0 up. Moreno clearly wasn't happy with the 27-year-old's contribution to the match, as he grabbed him by the shirt and screamed in his face while he was sat on the bench.

It didn't get any better for the visitors as Karim Benzema added a late fourth to put the cherry on top of a win which secured Carlo Ancelotti's side the La Liga trophy.

De Tomas has been in fine form this season and is joint-second in the La Liga top scorer standings behind Benzema. His 15 goals have helped the Catalan-based side secure safety in their first season back in the top flight.

Having come through Real's youth system, the two-time Spain international has been linked with a move back to his former club this summer. AS report he is an alternative option should they miss out on Erling Haaland.

Arsenal have also been named in connection with De Tomas this season. Mikel Arteta is in the market for attacking reinforcements with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang yet to be replaced, and both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah headed for the exit door as free agents.

With Manchester City in pole position to sign Haaland, there could be a transfer battle between Real and the Gunners once the window re-opens. Espanyol signed De Tomas for roughly £20m from Benfica, and he has four years left on his contract.
