Tottenham will finish in the Premier League top four this season if they can keep their front three fit, according to Liverpool legend Graeme Souness. Tottenham made it three league wins in a row with a 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday. Gareth Bale and Harry Kane both scored twice in a successful night for Jose Mourinho.

Bale has hit a rich vein of form of late after finally being given a regular spot in the side by Mourinho.

The Wales star has scored six goals in his last six matches in all competitions.

Kane is Spurs’ leading goalscorer this season, ahead of Son Heung-min.

And Souness says it is that trio which is crucial to where Tottenham finish the campaign.

He said on Sky Sports: “If they can keep that front three on the pitch, if you can guarantee Spurs will keep Bale, Son and Harry Kane fit between now and the end of the season in every game, I think they will get into the top four.

“They will score their way into that.”

Victory against Palace moves Tottenham up to sixth in the table, a point behind Everton and two adrift of Chelsea who face each other at Stamford Bridge on Monday.

Kane’s first goal was a stunning long-range effort which left Palace keeper Vicente Guaita with no chance.

Former Palace striker Clinton Morrison says Kane proved his quality on the night.

“That is a fantastic goal, there is nothing you can do about that,” Morrison said on BBC Radio 5 Live.

“This is why Harry Kane is a superstar and one of the best – the finish is fantastic. He’s on the angle and he has whipped it into the top corner. Brilliant.

“The Palace players are arguing among themselves but there’s nothing they could do about that.”

Meanwhile, Morrison also believes Bale is back near his best for Spurs.

He added: “Brilliant again – good play from Gareth Bale. He starts the move and plays the ball out wide and then continues his run into the box.

“Harry Kane pulls off Gary Cahill and Kane pulls off him, beats him in the air and Bale reacts quickest. Bale is officially back.”
