Henderson, Alexander-Arnold and Klopp pick up 2019/20 season awards

Liverpool swept the board in BBC Sport's 'end of season' awards, as Reds stars Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold and manager Jurgen Klopp were all honoured.

The Merseysiders are still patiently waiting for the chance to wrap up their first top-flight league title in 30 years, as football around the world remains paused in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.

There is hope that the Premier League will be able to resume next month, with Liverpool having opened their Melwood training ground this week to allow some members of their squad train individually in preparation for a return.

The Reds sit 25 points clear of second place Manchester City in the table, and require just two more wins in order to confirm the status of champions, which may end up being granted to them if the season can't finish.

Liverpool have won 27 of their 29 matches in the league this season, and three of their key figures have now been honoured in the BBC Sport vote.

Captain Henderson was named as the player of the year after picking up 23 per cent of the fans' vote, with his Reds teammate Sadio Mane in second with 17 per cent and Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne third with 14 per cent.

In addition, right-back Alexander-Arnold was an overwhelming winner of the young player of the year vote.
