Roma legend Francesco Totti has revealed that an Italian actress promised to strip naked if they won the league title in 2001.
In a Sky documentary from 2020 entitled ‘My Name is Francesco Totti’, he recalled the pledge from actress and Roma fan Sabrina Ferilli on the condition that his side managed to win the Scudetto.
Rome-born Totti – whose beloved Italy play Switzerland in Euro 2020 on Wednesday – held his end of the deal after captaining his side to their first title in nearly 20 years, assisted by the likes of Gabriel Batistuta and Marco Delvecchio.
But the World Cup winner revealed the actress instead chose to strip down to a flesh coloured bikini on stage in front of millions, as Roma fans celebrated in a concert held at the famous Circo Maximo.
Totti said: "You bought joy to an entire city. Just by kicking a ball and scoring a goal. That's why I say winning a Scudetto in Rome, is like winning ten in another part of Italy."
He added: "And then there were the celebrations at the Circus Maximus. Over a million people.
“Sabrina Ferilli had promised that if we won the championship, she would strip naked. In the end she wore a bikini, a true striptease never happened.

“But that night people weren't thinking about stripteases. With all due respect."
Totti’s beloved Stadio Olimpico was home to joyous scenes last Friday in the opening game of Euro 2020 as Italy dispatched Turkey in what was the nation’s first time ever scoring three goals in the competition.
Roberto Mancini’s side had gone under the radar prior to the tournament but the Italians will expect to be similarly dominant when they host Switzerland this evening.
The limited-capacity Rome crowd will be hoping the Azzurri make it two wins in two which would cement their place in the knockout round.
Italy, who won the World Cup with Totti in 2006, are gunning for similar glory.
At the opening game of the tournament Italy cemented their claim to being one of the favourites.
A spine-tingling rendition of Nessun Dorma by classical singer Andrea Bocelli left some fans in tears.
