Aston Villa are reportedly interested in Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey this summer, according to reports. Despite signing Emi Buendia from Norwich this summer, Villa are said to be interested in another winger, which has sparked rumours that they could be replacements for Jack Grealish.

Daily Mail is reporting that Bailey, who is a Jamaican international, is wanted by Aston Villa, as they look to improve on their 11th-place finish last season.

The 23-year-old joined Leverkusen from Genk in 2017 and has been linked with some of the biggest clubs in Europe over the last few years.

He is capable of playing on either flank and, with nine goals and nine assists in the Bundesliga last season, would make a great addition to Dean Smith’s squad.

As well as Buendia, Villa have already secured the signature of their former winger Ashley Young, too.

The 36-year-old joined from cash-strapped Inter Milan.

They are now looking to strengthen their squad even further and despite previously interest in Arsenal’s Emile Smith-Rowe, they are said to have ended their pursuit.

Arsenal rejected two bids from Villa for the young Englishman.

The Midlands side have also been linked with Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse and Tottenham’s Harry Winks.

With the Villans chasing a new attacking midfielder, could it mean that Grealish’s future lies elsewhere?

The England international, who was a constant threat for the Three Lions at Euro 2020, has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City this summer.

Manchester United and Arsenal are also said to be monitoring the 25-year-old.

It remains to be seen as to whether Villa’s captain will remain at his boyhood club beyond the summer, or if he will look to move on to play in the Champions League.

He scored six goals and provided 12 assists in 26 games last season, and was the most fouled player in the Premier League.

Grealish is said to be one of City’s top targets, alongside Tottenham’s Harry Kane, and is believed to be valued at around £100million.

However, to fund these moves, City would have to find buyers for the likes of Benjamin Mendy, Aymeric Laporte, Bernardo Silva, and Gabriel Jesus.
