Jamie Carragher laid into Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy for a "completely stupid" decision in the Blues' 1-0 win over Fulham.
Frank Lampard's side were forced to work for their victory at Craven Cottage – despite facing 10 men for the second half after Antonee Robinson's straight red card.
Taking 21 shots on Alphonse Areola's goal, it took at 78th-minute rebound volley from Mason Mount to break the deadlock.
But it was an incident at the other end of the pitch that caught Carragher's attention.
With 67 minutes on the clock, Cesar Azpilicueta chased down a long pass down the wing aimed at Ademola Lookman.
The Spaniard aimed to pass it back to goalkeeper Mendy – but the Senegalese shot-stopper had come out of position.
He is just two metres away from the Chelsea right-back when he receives the ball, poking out a left foot to push it away.
The ball ends up falling at the feet of Ivan Cavailero – but his first-time shot is blocked by Thiago Silva.
While Mendy avoided conceding a goal, it left Carragher fuming in the terraces.
Speaking during commentary on Sky Sports at Craven Cottage, the pundit raged: "What is he doing?
"I've had so many arguments about situations like these
"Azpilicueta has it's under control. The goalie does something completely stupid.
"Stay in your goal!"
Chelsea's victory at Fulham is their first in the Premier League since the middle of December.
Mendy arrived at Chelsea from Rennes over the summer for £22m amid concerns from Lampard over Kepa Arrizabalaga.
And the 28-year-old has become the regular No.1 ahead of the Spaniard, who got a first game since December in the FA Cup win over Morecambe.
But the League Two side took the chance to have a dig at the £70m shot-stopper.
