Jose Mourinho hailed his history makers after seeing Tottenham provide him with a magical return to Old Trafford.
Spurs spanked Manchester United 6-1 to climb to fifth in the table and leave Mourinho delighted.
Mourinho, who was sacked by United in December 2019, said: "Manchester United don't lose many matches.
"To lose by six doesn't happen every day.
"It's a historical victory. It is history for Tottenham, history for my boys and I cannot deny it is also history for me.
"I won many times in this stadium, mostly with Manchester United but also with Chelsea, Real Madrid and now Tottenham.
"It is a victory for the squad, not just the team but the squad. It is a victory of confidence, the team is so confident.
"I feel very happy, it is an honour for us to have this unique record in this stadium."
Mourinho, who revealed Gareth Bale would be fit and available following the international break, admitted Spurs were head and shoulders above a United side reduced to 10 men before half time.
He added: "We were the best team. They couldn’t stop us when we were 11 v 11. We were winning already, we were missing chances. The performance was very, very impressive.
"The message this week is that together – and with this squad – we can make it."
