Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham has reacted to Erling Haaland posting about his move to Manchester City.

It was revealed in May that the Norwegian striker would join the Etihad Stadium outfit this summer, with City paying his release clause of just £51million. Haaland is one of the most exciting young talents in world football, and many feel that he is likely to be battling it out for Ballon d’Or's with Kylian Mbappe for many years to come in the same style as the rivalry between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

But Haaland’s move means he is leaving behind an equally exciting prospect at Dortmund – Bellingham. The England international has made it known that he is upset to be parting ways with the striker, tweeting a sad face emoji underneath a montage of photos of Haaland’s time at Signal Iduna Park.

The accolade of images includes snaps of Haaland with teammates, trophies and staff. There was also a picture of Haaland alongside Bellingham.

Haaland is expected to be the final piece of the puzzle for Pep Guardiola at City as the former Barcelona boss looks to win the Champions League trophy with the club at last. The Spaniard has made it no secret that he has wanted a striker brought to the Etihad Stadium, with Harry Kane a target last summer.

Bellingham, too, has been linked with a move to the Premier League. Manchester United, City and Liverpool have all been speculated as potential destinations for the 18-year-old if Dortmund decides to cash in on the midfielder.

Although obviously upset to no longer be sharing a dressing room with Haaland, former Birmingham City star Bellingham has revealed that he is happy for the striker. He told The Times: “I spoke with him (Erling Haaland) after it was announced and told him I was really happy for him, that he was able to fulfil the next step of his journey and his dream as a footballer.

“Obviously, he’s a brilliant player, but also a brilliant lad, and that’s one of the things I will miss the most — the vibe he brings to the changing room, the way he is with the players. A really good character to have, a winner. (Manchester) City are really lucky to get a player like that.

"If you look at the way he impacts games with his goals and even when he doesn’t have the ball, when teams play against him, they drop five or ten yards deeper, so it gives players like me the time to be expressive. Playing with him is really fun and I’m going to miss it next year.”
