Jurgen Klopp details plan for Rhian Brewster after recent Liverpool form

Jurgen Klopp claims he may send Rhian Brewster out on loan again to help him gain more experience.

Brewster, 20, has starred in pre-season for Liverpool, scoring three times in their two friendlies, and will be part of their squad for Saturday's Community Shield against Arsenal at Wembley.

The England Under-21 striker netted 10 times in 20 Championship games last season while on loan at Swansea and Klopp says he needs to decide what is best for his development.

Sheffield United and Leeds are two of a number of Premier League clubs keen on signing Brewster for next season and Klopp knows he needs more senior action to continue his progress.

When asked if Brewster was part of his first-team plans, Klopp said: “At the moment he is, but we will have to see what happens in the next few weeks or so.

“We want to use Rhian, but help him as well and that’s why we have to make a decision, but not now.

“He looks really promising. Goals are the most important thing in the football world and he can score goals so that’s good and all the rest we will have to see.

“He’s still a young boy and in his position, No 9 up front, experience helps a lot.

“We have to see how we can give him the experience – is it here, is it somewhere else.

“It’s not decided yet, why should we? There is no reason to rush anything. He’s our boy and at the moment he’s here and he will be involved tomorrow in the squad for sure and that’s it.”

Brewster himself has admitted he would rather stay at Liverpool to learn under Klopp's watch than undertake another temporary spell elsewhere.

But the youngster is prepared for a second loan stint if his boss feels that is the best for his career.

“Ultimately, I want to be at Liverpool next season,” he told The Beautiful Game podcast recently. “I want to be fighting for a spot to play.

“Who is not going to want to play at the home of the champions? I don’t really want to go on loan, but if that’s the best thing for me to do, to go away and get more game time, then that’s what I’m going to do."
