Liverpool are reportedly readying a £40million move for Ismaila Sarr as they look to bolster their attacking options. The jet-heeled winger was one of a few positives from Watford’s bitterly disappointing campaign which saw them relegated to the Championship, ending a five-year stay in the Premier League.
Sarr arrived from Rennes last summer for a club-record fee and it was easy to see why the Pozzo family forked out £30million to sign him in 2019.
Watford will be hopefully they can keep him at Vicarage Road as they look to seal an immediate return to the top-flight.
The Hornets feel under no pressure to sell and are set to demand up to £45m for the player.
Liverpool have been tracking Sarr for some time and were again reminded of his quality when he put them to the sword to inflict their first Premier League defeat of last season.

He was at the double as Watford thrashed the Reds 3-0 to keep their hopes of survival alive.
They eventually fell short but Sarr could get the chance to play in the Premier League once again with the champions.
According to The Sun, Liverpool are prepared to pay his £40m valuation to complete the deal.
The report also adds that a key factor in their interest is that Jurgen Klopp believes Sarr can also play through the middle as well as out wide.

His electric sprint speed and acceleration makes him a problem for any defender and he would fit Liverpool’s system like a glove.
Game time may be limited though given that Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are arguably the first three names on the team sheet.
Liverpool are in the hunt for a new forward, a position they were looking to bring in at the start of the summer before they pulled the plug on a deal for Timo Werner.
Sarr would surely jump at the chance to link up with his ‘big brother’ Mane though at Anfield, who he has formed a close relationship with while playing for Senegal.
He has followed a similar pathway to Mane into Europe and was part of the Generation Foot academy based in Dakar before joining Metz, just like his compatriot.

Mane has helped him settle in England despite being at the other end of the country.
He was seen talking with Watford captain Troy Deeney about the 22-year-old last December after the 2-0 win at Anfield.
Sarr recently claimed there have been no discussions about his future as of yet but he did admit he would be interested in joining Liverpool.
“I’m at the same level of information as everyone else about these transfer rumours. Every day, like everyone else, I receive information like what I’m going to play for Liverpool, Manchester United etc … But really, for the moment, we have not yet discussed it internally,” he told Senegalese publication Sans Limite.
“Liverpool are a really great team, everyone would love to play there.
“They won the Premier League this year and the Champions League last year. But also there are great teams in the English league. Frankly, I have yet to make a choice. If [he were to leave], I just hope it’s to a good team.”
