Spurs transfer chief Fabio Paratici has insisted that Harry Kane ‘loves Tottenham’ and is part of the club’s re-build plans despite the England captain’s attempts to leave North London last summer.

Kane, 28, was the subject of strong interest from Manchester City, with the Premier League champions linked with a £150million move for the three-time Golden Boot winner.

However, Tottenham chief Daniel Levy firmly parried away all approaches from City and Kane relented in his bid to secure an exit from his boyhood club.

And now Paratici – who was recruited this summer from Juventus to oversee football activity at the club – has revealed that Kane ‘loves Tottenham’ and remains an integral part of the North Londoners’ plans.

‘Harry Kane loves Tottenham,’ he told The Sun.  ‘We’ve decided to keep Harry last summer to start the re-building, and we’re happy with our choice.

‘There’s no need of any new talk with Harry. He knows how to share the sense of belonging to Spurs.’

However Spurs transfer chief Paratici says that Kane remains crucial to the club’s plans

The former Juventus chief is looking to rebuild the squad at Nuno Espirito Santo’s disposal

The 28-year-old has endured a slow start to the 2021-22 campaign, failing to find the net in six Premier League games under Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Portuguese will hope that his star man can find his shooting boots soon, with pressure mounting on the former Wolves coach after a poor September saw Spurs slide down the league table.

Meanwhile, Paratici opened up on Tottenham’s pursuit of Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, with the Serbian earmarked as a potential replacement for Kane had his City move come to fruition.

Paratici added that a move for highly coveted striker Dusan Vlahovic is not in the club’s plans

‘Dusan Vlahovic is appreciated by many clubs, it’s normal – he’s not in our plans, for now,’ Paratici added.

‘I’m not going to speak about Dusan Vlahovic as he’s under contract with Fiorentina… and also because we’ve Harry Kane who’s the best striker in the world.’

Spurs return to action against Newcastle United after the international break, with a buoyant atmosphere expected at St James’ Park following the Magpies’ £305m takeover by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.
