Kieran Tierney sets Arsenal stars off as he posts picture with his ‘hero’

Arsenal star Kieran Tierney has kept his team-mates busy on social media by posting a picture on Instagram with his ‘hero’.

Tierney has not been seen on the pitch since December having struggled with a should injury.

He is close to a return having joined group training sessions in Dubai during the Premier League ’s inaugural winter break.

But while summer signing Tierney has been quiet when it comes to football, he has been busy on social media.

The former Celtic full-back posted a picture on Instagram of himself with Hoops star Scott Brown and captioned it: “Always a pleasure seeing ma hero…” along with a heart emoji.

And it gained some reaction from Tierney’s Arsenal team-mates with a number of Gunners stars liking the post.

Bukayo Saka, Granit Xhaka and Alexxandre Lacazette were among those who seemed happy for Tierney to meet up with his former team-mate.

Brown has previously sung the praises of Tierney, saying: “You don’t know what could happen.

“He could have a fantastic couple of seasons and end up at Barcelona or PSG or wherever.

“There are pictures on the wall all over the club of players who have left, and everyone would wish them all the best.

“They can come back as well, that’s what this club is all about. I see Ajax bringing players through and selling them on – and they have a party for them leaving.

“We try and criticise. It’s a different level. We wish him all the best.

“We just concentrate on now and [new left-back Boli Bolingoli] has to push on and try to get to the levels that Kieran did.”

Arsenal welcome Olympiacos in their next match on Thursday in the second leg of their Europa League tie.

The Gunners won the first leg 1-0 thanks to Alexandre Lacazette’s goal.
