Leeds star Patrick Bamford receives goalscoring incentive from rockstar Bon Jovi

Leeds forward Patrick Bamford received a hilarious message from his hero Jon Bon Jovi.

The Whites are taking on Middlesbrough on Wednesday as they look to cut the gap at the top to four points.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have suffered a slip recently, with only four wins in their last 11 league games.

One star who has struggled is Bamford, who has only got two goals in this period.

But footage has emerged of him getting a motivational message from an unlikely source – Bon Jovi.

The Englishman is known to be a big fan of the band that had hits such as “Livin’ On A Prayer” and “It's My Life”.

And the lead singer appeared on talkSPORT on Wednesday, saying he knew about Bamford’s choice of music.

When host Laura Woods asked the 57-year-old to send the Leeds star a message, he said: “I know his story – he’s great.

“Patrick, I’m holding your next game cheque – you score, you get it.

“If you don’t score, I keep it.

“How’s that for motivation?”

This leaves the studio in fits of laughter before Bon Jovi gives Bamford a new song.

“I’ve go Patrick’s new theme song – our new song, Limitless,” he said.

This footage has been viewed more than 130,000 times since it was published on Wednesday morning.

While a third suggested Bon Jovi’s words would have an impact.

With a sixth simply saying: “Definitely scoring tonight.”
