Liverpool are struggling to tie Mohamed Salah down to a new contract at Anfield, according to reports. The Reds have recently announced several high-profile extensions, but their star man is yet to commit his future to the club ahead of his current deal’s expiry in 2023.
Salah has started the new season in exceptional form, scoring nine goals in nine games across all competitions for Jurgen Klopp’s scintillating side.
He most recently stole the show in Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Premier League title challengers Manchester City.
The 29-year-old assisted Sadio Mane’s opener and scored a solo wondergoal with two pieces of brilliant play down the right flank.
Liverpool haven’t tied him down to a new deal yet, though, prompting ever-growing concern amongst the fan base.

“They know Mo Salah loves the club. He’s in love with the city, the dressing room, the manager. He loves Liverpool life.
“But they still have no agreement. They are negotiating [and] have been talking for three months. It’s not done yet.
“Let’s see what happens, but for Liverpool, he is their priority. They feel like extending Mo Salah’s contract is like signing a new player.

Last month, Klopp refused to be drawn into speculation over Salah’s future as contract talks continue.
The German boss is more focused on what Salah does on the pitch for his side than the ongoing negotiations off it.
“There’s nothing really to say, especially from me as I am not involved,” Klopp explained.
“The only thing I’m really interested in is how Mo looks, how sharp and committed he is at the moment, and that’s absolutely spot on.
“He looks really good. There is nothing else to say.”
