Liverpool, Arsenal and West Ham target David’s agent shares "priority" transfer

Jonathan David's agent has put a host of Premier League sides on alert after confirming that the Lille striker will leave the club at the end of the season.

The prolific Canadian has been tracked by the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and West Ham after starring in France this year.

The 21-year-old helped fire Lille to the Ligue 1 title last term after racking up 25 goals since his arrival from Gent in the summer of 2020.

David, who has netted 12 league goals in 19 appearances so far this season, still has three-and-a-half years left to run on his deal with the reigning French champions.

But that hasn't stopped his agent, Nick Mavromaras, from opening the door to a big bucks summer move.

"For us, the goal is to finish the season in Lille, but it will be his last season there for several reasons," Mavromaras told Radio Canada.

"I think the Premier League is a good option for him. I think that he likes Spain a lot also because he likes the feeling of the ball and the very technical players.

"These two leagues are a big priority for him, but nothing is excluded. You never know what could happen with Paris Saint -Germain or the big Italian clubs.

"It's normal that all these big clubs are interested in the top scorer in Ligue 1, but I can tell you that today there is no official offer."

As things stand, a whole host of Premier League sides are set to be in the market for a prolific marksman next summer.

Arsenal are set to seek a long-term replacement for exiled skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang whilst Liverpool have been keen on bolstering their attacking ranks for some time. West Ham, who have just Michail Antonio available to them in a central striking role, are set to test the water with an audacious swoop following their impressive European exploits this season.

Although Mavromaras has paved the way for David to make the move to England in six months' time, given his contract status, any deal for the striker is unlikely to be cheap.

And Mavromaras even compared David's situation to Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland, one of the most coveted players on the planet, when admitting that David is likely to command big transfer fee.

"I cannot say the price today. It has to do with Lille.

"But in the end, it's football. Jonathan is not going to say it, but he knows that he is one of the best young strikers in the world.

"There is also Erling Haaland, who costs today 75 to 100 million euros. There have been offers to 150 million euros. If you want to be on that list, you have to learn to handle the pressure."
