Liverpool’s Merseyside derby hero Divock Origi is almost certain to leave Anfield at the end of the season. The Belgian’s contract will expire in June and he is unlikely to sign a new deal as he searches for more game time.

Having earned cult hero status at Liverpool, Origi should have plenty of options in front of him. The striker has built a reputation for scoring goals at vitally important times and also put in a match-winning performance off the bench against Everton on Sunday.

As a result, a range of teams will look to be bring him in, with the fact he is available on a free transfer hugely enticing. Any interested parties should keep in mind that Origi is looking for game time, so any team with established first-choice strikers will likely miss out.

One club that has been frequently linked with the 27-year-old is AC Milan. Olivier Giroud has been key in their Serie A title challenge, but both the Frenchman and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are approaching the end of their careers, with Origi representing Stefano Pioli with an opportunity to refresh his options.

With the loan signing of Anthony Martial having not worked out, Sevilla could change their focus towards bringing in Origi. The La Liga side have enjoyed a successful season and will be able to offer Origi the chance to become their leading frontman.

Origi could also find increased game time at Wolves, who have enjoyed a successful debut campaign under Bruno Lage. But one clear hinderance to the Midlands club this term has been a lack of goals, scoring just 33 times in 33 games, a problem Origi could be brought in to solve.

Another Premier League destination could come in the form of Newcastle, who are set to undergo a major summer overhaul backed by their Saudi Arabian owners. Though they signed Chris Wood in January, the New Zealander has struggled for goals and Origi could be brought in to bolster Eddie Howe’s attacking options.

Admittedly, the final potential destination is the most unlikely of the five, with Borussia Dortmund potentially lining up Origi as a partial replacement for Erling Haaland. Dortmund will likely bring in a young player to directly replace the Norwegian in the future, but Origi could be used as a proven placeholder while that young player gets up to speed.
