Eden Hazard could be set for a sensational return to Chelsea this summer as his Real Madrid days look numbered.
The Belgian, who is now 30-years-old, joined Los Blancos in 2019, however, he has failed to achieve the dizzying heights of his Chelsea performances in the Spanish capital.
And with Zinedine Zidane leaving Madrid, Hazard's injury-riddled time at Real could come to a disappointing premature end.
Zidane was Hazard's biggest supporter in Spain, and Spanish-outlet AS are reporting that Los Blancos are looking to limit their losses on the star, and a return to Chelsea could be on the cards.
"I don't see myself outside of Madrid," Hazard told the same outlet earlier this month.
"I have a three-year contract and when I am 100 per cent I will contribute a lot to the team.
"I know what I have to do. Now I am focused on the Euros but later I will do great things for Real Madrid."
However, the departure of Zidane could change the Belgians outlook on the situation.
Hazard has only featured in 14 league games, five Champions League ties, and he only made one appearance in the Copa del Ray: a far-cry away from when he was the beating heart of Chelsea.
The 30-year-old fell foul of the Madrid faithful, too, when he was spotted laughing and joking with his former teammates after Real were knocked out of the Champions League to the eventual winners Chelsea.
