Man Utd and Barca table Timo Werner deals as Liverpool target weighs up options

Manchester United and Barcelona have reportedly already tabled offers for Timo Werner.

The RB Leipzig hitman has looked the real deal again this season. He’s already racked up a dazzling 27 goals in all competitions.

That’s put him firmly on the radar of Europe’s elite as they look to get their summer business aligned quickly.

Werner can leave Leipzig for £51m – but only if a transfer is agreed before April.

According to The Athletic , United and Barca have both tabled proposals for the Germany international.

Nevertheless, Werner is reportedly biding his time as he wants to see if Liverpool show their hand too.

According to transfer expert Ian McGarry, Jurgen Klopp will shuffle his ranks to get Werner in.

He believes the charismatic German chief will get a deal for him over the line if Roberto Firmino heads for the Anfield exit.

“We have accurately and consistently reported that Werner will join Liverpool we believe this summer,” McGarry said on the Transfer Window podcast.

“I cannot report anything that I think changes that although interestingly news is that Roberto Firmino’s representatives have been contacted by Bayern Munich in the last 10 days with regards to ‘would he be willing to leave Anfield?

“Would he be interested in a return to the Bundesliga?

“And would he be interested in becoming part of Bayern’s rebuild?’ which of course they have been planning now since the beginning of last season.

“Firmino may fit in very well as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski who may well move on, potentially to MLS in the summer.”

It’s United who have the most pressing need for a new world-class forward.

Odion Ighalo was signed in January on loan, but the Nigeria international is only viewed as a short-term fix.
