Manchester United fans want Bruno Fernandes to replace Harry Maguire as captain at Old Trafford. The Portuguese has been superb since his arrival in January while Maguire has struggled so far this season.
Fernandes lined up for Portugal last night in a 0-0 draw with France featuring Paul Pogba but supporters took the opportunity to voice their opinion.
Maguire has made a series of mistakes in the opening matches of the campaign.
That has led to United losing to Crystal Palace and Tottenham in two of their three opening Premier League games.
United fans have been clear on social media as to who they want to see with the armband going forwards.
One tweeted: “Bruno Fernandes for Captain.”

Another added: “Love that Fernandes has put in a couple hard challenges on Pogba. Captain material, that Bruno.”
A third exclaimed: “Maguire should not be the captain of Manchester united for various reasons.
“I am not reacting Trent Arnold’s reality check at England team training but on alternative names that should be fronted for the captaincy.
“Bruno Fernandes fits the bill. He is a cut above the rest.”

Meanwhile, Edinson Cavani has opened up on what he will bring to Old Trafford.
“I’m here to offer a little bit of my experience to the squad, to the manager, and I’m ready and willing to do the very best I can, and to give the best that I can give,” he told the club’s website.
“So that’s kind of my aim as I arrive here, very keen to make myself available to my team-mates.”
Cavani also revealed he got the lowdown on United from his former PSG team-mates Ander Herrera and Angel Di Maria.

“I spoke with Ander a lot, as well as other team-mates, like Angel Di Maria, who I was also with at Paris,” Cavani added.
“It was genuinely getting to the last minute and I called Ander to have a chat.
“I have a lot of admiration for Ander, for the kind of person he is, and I had the feeling that his words were going to help me out, by telling me a bit about what it was like at United.
“So yes, it’s true that after I’d finished talking with Ander, we came to an agreement here with the club.
“I hadn’t known Ander for too long, but we formed and enjoyed a close friendship during that time at PSG, and, today, we are still very good mates.”
