Man Utd: Solskjaer wants slow starts to stop
Manchester United could recall Tahith Chong from his loan spell at Werder Bremen, according to reports. The 21-year-old has struggled for game time at the Bundesliga outfit, which could lead to the Red Devils bringing him back to England in January with the aim of finding a new temporary suitor.
It is said that the German club would be happy to keep hold of Chong until the end of the season, but United want to see the player’s development aided by regular first-team minutes, according to German outlet Fussball Transfers.
Chong is highly rated by the 20-time Premier League champions and has been considered as one of the club’s top youth prospects for some time.
He has made ten Bundesliga appearances this season but has only started three matches for Die Werderaner.
His loan spell took an unfortunate early turn when he was forced to self-isolate after a teammate tested positive for coronavirus.
The Dutchman was left as an unused substitute in the defeat against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday evening.

Chong has not yet provided a league goal or assist for Werder Bremen this season, but scored on his debut against fourth-tier side Carl Zeiss Jena in the first round of the DFB-Pokal back in September.
The youngster signed a new deal with United earlier this year that sees him contracted to the club until 2022.
Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed at the time that he sees Chong as a top talent, praising the 21-year-old’s mentality and work rate as well as his on-pitch showings.
“Tahith works extremely hard every day and he is constantly improving,” Solskjaer told United’s official website.
“His performances this season, whether for the first team or Under-23s, are testament to his hard work, dedication and to his character.
